Sneak Peek

WINGS Curriculum Features
WINGS Curriculum is complete with a teacher's guide and program/classroom forms necessary to fully implement the learning system with infants, toddlers, preschoolers/pre-k, family/group child care, and blended programs.

In addition to learning environment posters, a music CD, an online teacher resource center, and support materials, WINGS: The Ideal Curriculum for Children in Preschool includes two books - a teacher's guide and Book of Forms. These two manuals are the core of the program offering guidance for understanding and implementing the curriculum on a daily basis.

WINGS Curriculum Book of Forms is complete with all the forms teachers need to implement WINGS: The Ideal Curriculum for Children in Preschool, including:
  • Assessment and Evaluation Forms for monitoring learning goals and skills of young children from infancy through age 5
  • Lesson-planning Forms for infants, toddlers, preschoolers/pre-k, family/group child care, blended classrooms, and extended day/after-school care
  • Record-keeping Forms for scheduling routines, promoting health and safety, daily/weekly teacher-parent communication, parent conferences, home learning, classroom data compilation, classroom transition...

The printed forms in WINGS Curriculum Book of Forms are also available electronically in fillable format on Spread MyWINGS Online Resource Center. Yes, you can download forms and complete them by typing the information! Teachers love this option!

WINGS Curriculum Teacher's Guide for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, & family/group child care is a full-color publication containing in-depth information on the philosophy and components of WINGS Curriculum. Check out the Table of Contents for our Teacher's Guide!

The introduction details the philosophical and theoretical underpinnings of the curriculum, a detailed examination of how the WINGS Curriculum meets NAEYC's recommendations for effective childhood curriculum, assessment, and evaluation, a discussion on how children learn and the roles that teachers and parents play in a child's development.

The Learning Environment section provides detailed information on appropriately organizing and equipping learning centers for maximum child engagement and discovery. For each learning center, a corresponding WINGS chart is provided, in addition to equipment lists, teacher tips and 10 Points to Ponder.

The Establishing Routines section includes ideas on how to develop effective daily routines by age group. Sample schedules are included for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, pre-k, family child care, and extended day/after-school care.

Before teachers can plan activities that are developmentally and culturally appropriate for young children, it is essential that assessment and evaluation occur. This section outlines effective methods for on-going child assessment and evaluation. Sample forms are included illustrating the organization of the WINGS Individual Child Portfolio and completion of the WINGS Anecdotal Record, Progress Report, Individual and Class/Group Assessment forms.

This section outlines methods of effectively planning daily activities that facilitate children's cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language and literacy development, while including their interests. Sample lesson plans for infants, toddlers, preschoolers/pre-k, and family day care are included.
